UX Writing and design
“Nothing about us, without us, is for us” — Judi Chamberlin, mental health advocate.
Recently we took part in a workshop to improve our UX writing and design skills to make digital products that include everyone.
- It is important to prioritize digital accessibility and inclusivity by implementing features like alt text, hyperlink descriptions, video captions, and downloadable transcripts.
- When creating sign-up forms, steer clear of alienating individuals by asking questions that allow them to identify themselves in a way that feels significant to them.
- It's recommended to use CamelCase for hashtags as it prevents awkward errors and is more compatible with screen readers. For instance, consider using #AmIRightOrAmIWrong instead of #amirightoramiwrong.
To develop digital products that truly work for all users, it is imperative to keep in mind who you're designing for.
